THE FOLLOWING IS AN OUTLINE OF THE 2023 NORTHWESTBIKING USA TOUR.
EXACT DATES ARE TO BE SET BUT WILL BE IN SPRING 2023.

Day 1
Land in Phoenix and go to hotel.

Day 2
Collect bikes and ride to Flagstaff, via Jerome and Sedona along the very scenic State Route 89. Stay in Flagstaff overnight.

Day 3
Ride to Grand Canyon, taking in a short section of Route 66 stopping off at the Route 66 sign in northern Flagstaff. Riding through the edge of the Painted Desert to our second overnight at Tuba City in The Navajo Nation. This is a dry county.

Day 4
Take the opportunity to visit the Navajo Museum in Tuba City in the morning if desired. Ride to Monument Valley and have a wander into the valley itself, either on horseback or ride the bikes, but that’s not option is not too user friendly. Ride to our third overnight stop in Kayenta.

Day 5
Ride to Canyon de Chelly. This is a long straight ride that can become a little challenging with some heavy winds and occasional sand storms, but the end prize of Canyon de Chelly is superb. Ride to our fourth overnight stay in Holbrook.

Day 6
Ride south through fabulous scenery, taking in the small town of Heber, then onto Payson, through Tonto Basin and by Roosevelt Lake finally stopping to overnight at Globe-Miami.

Day 7
This is a long day. Ride down to Tucson to visit the Davis Monthan Air Force Base. Here, there is an aircraft museum housing various historical aircraft such as former Air Force 1 planes and aircraft owned by Elvis Presley. Then there is the bus tour around the boneyard, which is super impressive. Finally, ride back to your hotel for the night in Phoenix, before the flight back to UK the next day (or onto other adventures, if you have those planned).

It is  intended to have a following vehicle, which can take all of our luggage, so we don’t have to worry about that.

THE FOLLOWING IS A GUIDE TO PRICING

Bike hire (Harleys only), all accommodation and all entry fees to the parks and aircraft museum (with the exception of the boneyard tour), is looking like it will be around £2500 (using current exchange rates) for a single rider in a single room. Obviously, Reduced costs may be possible if people come as couples on one bike or two people sharing a room, so I expect that figure to be a worst case scenario.

THE ABOVE PRICING DOES NOT INCLUDE FLIGHTS, FOOD AND PETROL. Petrol is currently anywhere between $3.30 and $3.80 but that will likely rise before our trip, so I would say maybe $4. If we say the average Harley is about 40 MPG, then we can allow, say, $200 for petrol, that should be plenty.

IT'S TIME TO START SAVING. THIS IS ONE EXCELLENT TOUR. FURTHER DETAILS TO FOLLOW.
